| !!! News Flash !!! 1/10/10 Avignon (Willy) has started showing tremendous FEI potential. His collected trot and canter are awesome. He's offered a few steps of piaffe and is ready to work on pirouettes. He is very reasonably priced and jumps as well. 12/5/09 Pago Pago went to his first schooling show and receieved a 68% at training level. The best part was that he got off the trailer, needed no lunging and went right to work. No problems in the busy warm-up, only minorly distracted when a boarder decided to wash her horse right next to the dressage arena, and didn't twitch when a loose horse came careening by his trailer. 9/29/09 HATTRICK FOR PRESCRIPTION! It is with very mixed feelings that I announce Presciption's (Presidio-Bolero) recent victories. This year he was Third Level Champion for the Oregon Dressage Society, Northwest Dressage, and USDF Zone 6 all with amateur rider Liz Lawson-Weber. It is almost unknown for a single horse to win two much less all three of these championships. What makes his victories bittersweet is that at the moment he entered the arena for his Oregon Championship ride his co-owner James Canepa died peacefully after a long illness. His wife and Prescription's co-owner Jane Epperson is certain that Jim was in the ring that day cheering their horse on. Congratulations and condolences. 8/14/09 Our annual GOV inspection is over. We had a very successful year. All three of our foals received Premium Awards - fillies Querida C (Quaterback - Presidio) and Persia C (Presidio - Walt Disney) and colt Quatermaster C (Quaterback - Kingston) who also received the "Foal of Distinction" as the top Premium foal of the Inspection. Sonja Assemi's foal Sweet Dreams (Sandomere - Day Dream) received a Premium award as well. We presented 3 Presidio mares for studbook inspection. Peru C (Presidio - Singular Joter) was the best of the day, earning high marks for her typiness and elasticity. Passion C (Presidio - Don Primero) got an "8" on her trot. It was remarked that she looks and moves exactly like her maternal grand-sire Don Primero. Papagena C showed her great conformation and movement and is clearly smitten with her 16 year old handler Nolan Spence. The commission strongly agreed with the choice of Quaterback as the sire of her foal. It was remarked that Presidio's get had very correct gaits and good push from behind, traits that the Oldenburg Verband is very clearly seeking in its breeding stock. 8/1/09 congratulations to Mary Chamberland! Her Pamona (Presidio - Cordealme) won the Three Year Old Mare class at Dressage in the Rockies under Hilda Gurney and was then second in the Fillies class. 5/30/09 Patronus C just competed in his first dressage show - USDF/USEA/CDS Dressage in the Valley. He received a 67.7% in Training 3 and a 74.4% in Training 4 winning both the Open and overall High Score award. This was only the second time he had been ridden away from his home barn. Congratulations to his trainer and rider Craig Stanley. 4/09 The babies are arriving! The first is a Quaterback - Presidio from the Schatznorne dam line. Dark chestnut, blaze and 4 high stockings! 4/09 Prescription (Presidio - Bolero) just received a 70% winning Fourth Level at Spring into Dressage at Devonwood. It was his first time showing at this level. The next closest competitor was 4 points behind. Congratulations to owner Jane Epperson and rider Gina Jensen! See his video here. A Presidio grandson Playboy (Prescription - Matcho) received a 74.3 in the Materials class at the same show. His video is here. 3/09 There are stipulations in the 2009 stimulus package which may help you buy a horse if you have a horse related business. Check with your accountant and see our sales page for more information. Pamona C, owned by Mary Chamberland won the 2 year old Sport Horse filly class and was the Reserve Champion Filly. We wish them great luck at the Finals. 9/08 Come see our new blog! It will include my personal philosophy and experiences of warmblood breeding and training. 8/08 The Oldenburg verband inspection was held on August 3. Four of our foals - Parker C, Palermo C, San Andreas C, and our stallion prospect Prestige C were awarded First Premium Status. White Diamonds C was placed in the Main Mare Book. Congratulations to her owner Melissa Wilcox. 7/08 Kingston, the sire of our broodmare Karrina, has been chosen as the alternate for the US Olympic team. Read more here. Karrina is safely in foal the incredible young stallion Quaterback for a 2009 foal. 4/08 Sandro's Ace with Young Rider Caitlin Masiel came in third in the FEI 5 year Old Finale Test with a score of 74.6%. This was his first show. He missed second place by only .6%. The Central Valley was well represented with all three of the top Five Year Old competitors being from our area. |
