Canterbury Court
Allure is a gorgeous looker and mover who has
not yet finished growing. She was one of the top
three fillies (out of 18) at the Glenwood
inspection in 2001. Smart and proud, she is very
light and forward under saddle. Allure was been
started carefully to preserve her excellent gaits.
She is now ready to go on to higher level
training and start showing.

Allure’s sire Arrian received his first public
notice in Der Hannoveraner which stated that he
"captivated his audience with his outstanding
trot" at his 1994 Stallion licensing in Verden.   In
1995 he was Young Horse Champion and winner
of the Hanoverian Class at Port Jervis. In 1997
Arrian was Grand Champion at NEDA, where he
received an overall score of 92% from judges
Hilda Gurney and Marianne Ludwig. Arrian's first
foal crops have also received official
recognition.  In 1996 the inspectors commented:
"It is hard for us to imagine a better first foal
crop for any young stallion". Of the eight foals of
that first crop, one, Aldebaran, was Champion of
his inspection and another, Alcatraz, was winner
of the Colts of 1996 at NEDA. In 1999 at the
Raleigh show, Athene Nike won the 3-year old
Filly Class and was Reserve Filly Champion and
Atail won the 3-year old Colts and Geldings and
was Reserve Young Horse Champion.  These
two formed the pair that captured the Get of
Sire prize for Arrian at the same show. Athene
Nike earned her Elite Mare status in 1999 and
Arriana was the High Scoring Performance Test
participant in 2001, also earning Elite Mare
status. In his summary of the of the 1998
inspection tour published in The American
Hanoverian, Dr. Burchard Bade of the VhW said
of the second crop representatives he had
viewed at one site: "Eight very good foals by
Arrian each received individual marks of 7 and
above by the author." Additionally, three Arrian
foals were Champions at other inspections
across the US that same year.  At the 2000
Virginia inspection two of the three Arrian foals
presented were selected for the review ring.
One of these was named best filly overall.

Allure’s mother  was the Elite Mare Shalimar.
She was purchased at the Verden Elite Foal
Auction in Germany to be one of Canterbury
Court’s foundation mares. Shalimar was the
Mare Champion at Santa Rosa as a two year old
and missed being the Golden State Champion by
.005 points. She passed her mare performance
test under a 14 year old rider and then showed
on a local hunter-jumper circuit.  Her sire
Spitzweg, a grandson of the Thoroughbred
improvement sire Sudan, was used for only a
short time but is noted for producing improved
type and dressage movement.

The grandam Goldmaus by Grand Royal  was the
first foal of Aphrodite II. She was awarded the
state premium as a 4-year-old at the mare show
in Ettenbüttel, but couldn't accept it due to a
sickness shortly before the performance test.
She got 5 foals in 5 breeding years and died in
1995 after a strong colic.

Her first filly Shalimar (born 1991) by Spitzweg
was sold via the Verden foal auction to
California.

Her two daughters born in 1993 and 1994, the
state premium mares and full sisters Caracalla I
and Caracalla II by Calypso II, both have a
licensed son by Stakkato - Spaceman out of
Caracalla I and Stalypso out of Caracalla II.
Stalypso  was sold at the Elite Foal Auction for
the record price of 55,000 Eros. He was licensed
and recently won his 30 Day Test with the
incredible jumping score of 9.975! He is owned
by the private stud Gestute Sprehe.

Aphrodite II was born in 1981 as a daughter of
St.Pr.St. Wolke. She had 13 foals in 15 breeding
years. Her full sister Aphrodite I competed
successfully in both the  Young Rider
Championships and the German Championships.

The state premium mares Chiara and
Cosmopolitan, both by the Holsteiner sire
Calypso II, the licensed stallions Clochard, by
Calypso II, and For Fashion, by For Expo 2000,
and the successful show jumpers Chappelou M
and Calero (also by Calypso II) are outstanding
descendants of Aphrodite II. She has produced
both dressage horses and show jumpers.

Aphrodite's black stallion "For Fashion", *1999
by For Expo 2000 was licensed at the Second
Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden on
October 26th, 2002. The stallion was owned by
Dr. Rolf-Peter Schulze. On November 05th/06th,
2003 "For Fashion" placed 10th with 104,01
points in the 70-day-test for private stallions in
Adelheidsdorf. He was later sold to the USA.
