Pago Pago is a well built and athletic
gelding who received a First Premium
rating from the Oldenburg Verband. He has
very elastic uphill movement with a free
shoulder and excellent drive from behind.
He seemed destined to be a first class
dressage horse until the first time he was
put through a jump chute. There we found
he was not only able to collect and extend
to find a proper approach to the fences, but
was also able to clear a four foot oxer
without effort. Right now we are
concentrating on his dressage training. He
received a 68% at his first show. While his
score was excellent for his first time in the
ring the best part was his attitude. He came
off the trailer, took one walk around, and
was ready to go to work. He required no
lunging and was ready to go to work.
While we plan to concentrate on his
flatwork for the next year or two, he is
talented enough to undertake a career in
any Olympic discipline. His half brother El
Dorado is showing Level 6 Jumpers and is
preparing to move in to Grand Prix.
