Stallions
The current array of top class stallions
available to the North American breeder is
amazing. With improvements in the quality of
frozen semen and veterinarians' increasing
skill at determining when to breed for
maximum chances for conception, we could
breed our mares to almost any stallion in the
world. This is where knowing bloodlines and
each stallion's production record is
important. Certain crosses of bloodlines or
"nicks" are known to be particularly
successful. The Donnerhall - Pik Bube cross
is one example. While we most often use our
stallion Presidio for our mares we will
selectly use other stallions to add bloodlines
to our breeding program. We also have
Presidio daughters being bred to outside
stallions. The first of these babies was born
in May 2007. Schatznorne was awarded a
First Premium. As a breeder it is very
gratifying to see sucesses cary forward to
the next generation.
