Canterbury Court

Canterbury Court was started in 1990 with the
stated purpose of breeding, raising, importing,
and selling German and Dutch Sporthorses for
the Olympic disciplines.  We attended multiple
breeders courses in Germany, studied
pedigrees and production reports and even
founded the American Hanoverian Stallion
book in order to duplicate the successes of
European breeders. We have had multiple
successes with National and Regional
Champions passing through our barn doors.

While awards give us public recognition, our
best reward as breeders is to place our horses
in homes where they are loved and
appreciated.  We breed our horses to be sound
in body and mind. We take particular pride in
our raising program where young horses are
rotated between valley pastures and mountain
hillsides. We feel this makes our horses
surefooted with great joint, tendon and muscle
soundness.  Our horses are not started under
saddle until they demonstrate adequate
maturity of body and mind to thrive in a
training program. Each horse is evaluated  for
their natural talents and passions. We have
had horses bred for dressage who love to jump
and jumper bred horses who much prefer the
dressage ring.

"He seems to have a wonderful personality and mind, and is
extremely sweet. ... I am looking forward to a long and
successful partnership with him. My husband ( a non-horse
person) also thinks he is great and is welcoming him as a
member of the family! I plan on keeping him for life. "
